We need to keep leprosy and people affected by leprosy on the international agenda until it is eradicated from our world
To keep leprosy and people affected by leprosy on the international agenda, ILEP will continue to raise awareness of leprosy using tactics such as World Leprosy Day, harnessing other news and events and by coordinating and deploying the collective strengths of its Member Communication Network, worldwide.
World Leprosy Day
For World Leprosy Day 2017, ILEP will be calling for Zero Disabilities in girls and boys affected by leprosy. Read more about it here.
Leave no one behind
The commitment to ‘leave no one behind‘ has been a key feature of all the discussions on the post-2015 agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals. Read what “leaving no one behind” means for ILEP here.
Policy on the use of language, photography and imagery
ILEP members are committed to raising the profile of leprosy and telling the stories of people affected by leprosy in a respectful and inclusive way. Together, they have formulated a policy designed to offer guidance on the use of language, photography and imaging used throughout the ILEP Federation in all online/digital, written, print, or oral communications.
